Mr. Spencer is a first-year teacher at Green Cove Springs Junior High School, in Green Cove Springs and home to the Cougars. He started teaching to help young people learn and grow and believes 8th grade is the target group to make the greatest impact.
Early in life, he was a Green Cove and Clay County resident. After graduating, he served our country in the United States Marine Corps – Oorah – for 23 years. Looking to be a part of something and making a difference, he picked up teaching!
Working throughout the county for a short time as a substitute teacher, he found his place with the Cougars at GCSJHS and was adopted this year by Cabul Lodge.

We adopted Green Cove Springs Junior High School for a second year. We believe the middle school students, administration, and faculty are the ones in the greatest need of volunteers and community involvement.
We appreciate the partnership of Principal Jim Demarie and his staff.
