Chabolo: Cabul's traveling gavel

The story of the chabolo

The Cabul Lodge No. 116 Traveling Gavel was turned to encourage fellowship, brotherly love, traveling and sharing experiences visiting other Masonic Lodges.

The Gavel will be known as “Chabolo”, a classical spelling of Cabul; which is Hebrew for “what does not please”. Therefore, it will not please Chabolo to stay home at Cabul.

Chabolo was created by a Honorary Perpetual Friend of a Cabul Brother, Mr. Bob Hitchins of St. Augustine. The gavel measures 1 foot and 16 inches in length. Chabolo was finished being turned on November 6, 2021, when Cabul Lodge had 116 members. The Cabul Traveling Gavel will begin its travels effective January 16, 2022.
